Staccato C: The Ultimate All-Purpose Handgun
Initially introduced at SHOT Show 2024, the Staccato C is one of the newest additions to the company’s acclaimed lineup, and from the looks of it, the C won’t disappoint.
The 2024 Staccato C is a complete redesign of the company’s previous C model. This newer firearm comes with the 2024-style Staccato CS frame and magazine, and is complete with a 4-inch barrel, an external extractor, and a toolless recoil system. It really is the perfect do-it-all handgun, striking the perfect balance of size and features for concealed carry, home defense, or duty use.
“The whole lineup is amazing, and they all shoot super flat. … The [Staccato C] is amazing. Very fun and easy to shoot,” professional shooter and Staccato representative Michelle Viscusi said in an interview with The Firearm Blog.
In this article, we’ll cover all the details of the Staccato C and what makes it such a great choice for concealed carry or home defense.

Staccato C Features
Size & Capacity:
Staccato specifically designed the C to be the perfect, all-purpose handgun that’s “small enough for concealed carry and big enough for on duty and home defense.” And this compact pistol really is the best of both worlds. Weighing 26 ounces and measuring 5.6 inches tall, 1.45 inches wide, and 7.6 inches long with a barrel length of 4 inches, the Staccato C is both comfortable to shoot and small enough to carry every day.
Chambered in 9mm, the Staccato C comes standard with two 16-round precision-built magazines, though you also have the option to increase the capacity to 18. If you stick with the 16-round mags, however, you’ll be able to use the Staccato C and CS magazines interchangeably, which is a plus for anyone who owns both weapons.
Ergonomics:
The Staccato C was developed with a wide frame that runs flush with the slide for extra durability. The design also effectively adds just enough extra non-reciprocating weight to the gun to decrease muzzle flip and recoil for more accurate shooting. It’s also built with an ultra-reliable external extractor.
Frame:
In addition to its flush frame, the Staccato C was engineered to be slim, short, and compact while remaining comfortable to hold. To ensure compatibility with a variety of hand sizes, Staccato designed the C to come with your choice of two frame sizes – a compact and a full-size, which will have a longer grip. Either way, you can rest assured knowing you’ll have a durable yet lightweight billet precision machined 7075 aluminum frame and a 4-inch bull barrel in your choice of stainless steel or DLC.
Sights & Optics:
The Staccato C comes with a set of windage-adjustable mechanical sights, the front of which has a high-visibility fiber-optic insert. As always, this Staccato pistol comes optics-ready out of the box.
Controls:
The Staccato C 2024 is complete with an ambidextrous manual thumb safety and grip safety. It features a 4-4.5 pound single-action flat trigger that’s crisp and easy to work with.
“I did not prefer a flat trigger when I started shooting Staccato, but I tried it out and I love it,” Viscusi told TFB. “It’s a lot easier for me to just keep on the trigger and be able to shoot a little bit quicker.”
About Staccato
For over 25 years, Staccato has maintained its reputation for quality and precision in the world of firearm manufacturing. Originally known as STI, the Texas company made a name for itself by reinventing the 1911 design into the innovative “2011” pistol.
Today, Staccato offers several distinguished pistol models tailored for competition, concealed carry, and duty use. Popular choices include the high-performing Staccato C2 and P series.
In 2019, the company adopted the fitting name “Staccato” for its duty and personal defense handguns, which is the Italian musical term for a series of short and sharply separated sounds, much like bullets striking steel targets. The rebranding proved so successful that the corporate identity transitioned fully to Staccato in 2020.
As a veteran-founded, all-American company, Staccato aims to manufacture exceptional handguns ready for duty straight out of the box. With expert gunsmiths hand-assembling each component, Staccato pistols achieve consistent durability, precision accuracy, and reliability.
