Mississippi Concealed Carry Reciprocity Map

*Page Last Updated: June 21, 2024

Mississippi is a shall-issue, permitless carry state that allows both residents and non-residents to conceal or open carry with or without a CCW license.

In Mississippi, constitutional carry became legal in 2016 allowing anyone over the age of 21 who is legally permitted to possess a firearm to conceal carry without needing to obtain a permit.

That said, Mississippi does offer a general concealed carry permit and an enhanced permit for reciprocity purposes. To qualify for a regular Mississippi CCW permit, you must be at least 21 years old (unless an active member of the U.S. military); have been a resident of the state for at least a year; and meet all federal requirements. There are also a number of factors that may disqualify you from obtaining a permit. The enhanced Mississippi carry permit allows holders to carry in some otherwise prohibited areas, such as public parks, some government meetings, political rallies, parades, official political meetings, and non-firearm-related athletic events.

In addition to firearms, a Mississippi concealed carry permit allows you to conceal a stun gun. Open carry is also legal in Mississippi for anyone over 18 and legally permitted to possess a firearm.
