CZ P07 vs P10C: What’s the Difference?

CZ P07 vs P10C: What’s the Difference?

Founded in the early 1900s, CZ has built a reputation for crafting reliable, high-quality firearms over the years.

Two of the most popular CZs for concealed carry are the CZ P07 and P10C. While there are many similarities between the two guns, there are a few key differences when comparing the CZ P07 vs P10C we will highlight to help you choose which pistol is best for you.

Let’s dive right into what makes these two CZ models so popular and how you can determine which will best suit your needs.

CZ P07

First released in 2009, the CZ P07 was the first of its kind to use the Omega trigger system, allowing the gun to be completely disassembled and reassembled without tools or gunsmithing experience.

The Omega trigger system also allows for a convertible decocker/safety system so you can carry it cocked and locked or decocked for a double-action initial trigger pull. This double/single-action pistol is chambered in 9mm Luger and comes standard with a 15-round magazine. Luckily, it is available in a state-compliant 10-round model as well.

The P07 features forward serrations, metal sights, and interchangeable backstraps. A newer fiber-reinforced polymer makes these popular firearms even more comfortable and adaptable for everyday carry as well.

These features, along with plenty more that we’ll cover momentarily, have made the P07 a popular concealed carry choice for beginners and experienced shooters alike.

CZ P10C

In contrast to the P07, the CZ P10C is a striker-fired pistol with surprising ergonomics and a clean trigger pull.

The P10C was first introduced in 2017 and was designed to withstand military use. The gun was built to fit comfortably in a wide variety of hands for effortless shooting.

Chambered in 9mm Luger, this durable pistol is made with the same fiber-reinforced polymer as the P07 and comes standard with a 15-round magazine or a lower-capacity 10-round mag. The CZ P10C features a generous trigger guard, metal 3-dot sights, and a swappable magazine release.

With plenty of other features we will talk about shortly, you can already see why the CZ P10C is a popular choice for many shooters.

Ergonomics

Frame

Both the CZ P07 and CZ P10C concealed carry pistols are made of a fiber-reinforced polymer and come with interchangeable backstraps. The P10C, specifically, is known for its ergonomics and features a mild-palm swell and deep beavertail to make it more comfortable in a variety of hands.

Slide & Barrel

There isn’t much of a difference between the slide and barrel of the CZ P07 and P10C. They both feature a cold hammer forged barrel. And when it comes to slide serrations, both of these CZ models have front and rear slide serrations.

Sights & Optics

When comparing the sights of the CZ P10C vs P07, you will find they both use metal three-dot sights and don’t come in an optics-ready variation. However, if optics are non-negotiable to you, you may be able to find one via special order through a dealer.

Controls

CZ P-07 and CZ P-10C

Safety

The CZ P07 is the clear winner when it comes to safety. While the CZ P10C only features a trigger safety and firing pin block safety, the P07 has much more to offer. The CZ P07 features an ambidextrous decocker/manual safety in addition to a safety stop on the hammer and a firing pin block safety.

Trigger

The CZ P07 is built with a convertible decocker/safety system that allows the gun to be carried cocked and locked or decocked with the standard double action first pull of the trigger. The CZ P10C, on the other hand, is striker-fired and the trigger is designed to have a 4.5-5 lb trigger pull with a short, positive reset.

Which is Right for Me?

Ultimately, the best gun for you is going to depend on your personal preferences and which best fits your needs.

The biggest difference when comparing the CZ P07 vs P10C is that the P07 is double/single action and the P10C is striker-fired.

If you are looking for ergonomics, the P10C may feel more comfortable in your hand. If you’re looking for other features, you may be able to find special variations of the CZ P07 concealed carry pistol that have been custom ordered by dealers over the years. These might include a longer barrel, tactical light, or tritium sights among other things.
