Function
Both the ProTuck and the LightTuck™ were designed with their own unique functions and capabilities. Though both are inside the waistband Kydex holsters, that’s where their similarities end.
The LightTuck™ is our number one best-selling holster – and for good reason. It’s easily our most versatile holster and can be worn comfortably in any position, including the standard 3-5 o’clock, appendix, and cross-draw.
This IWB holster is our smallest and most compact option. It only weighs a couple of ounces, which is one of the reasons it’s so popular. The LightTuck™ is also extremely adjustable, making it perfect for any carry situation or body type.
The ProTuck was designed to be worn in the 3-5 o’clock position. It’s a hybrid holster, meaning it’s a combination of Kydex and leather, which gives it an edge when it comes to comfort. It’s also one of our most customizable holsters, as you have more choices when it comes to clips, colors, and leather types.
This advanced IWB hybrid holster is specially designed with comfort and concealability in mind. Its Kydex shell is shaped to naturally contour around your body. It has two clips backed by leather “wings” to create two points of contact and further wrap around your body for even weight distribution on your waistline.
Material
One of the biggest similarities between the ProTuck and the LightTuck™ is the material they’re made with.
Both holsters are crafted with a .080” genuine Kydex® shell. This premium thermoplastic is heat-molded to a specific gun model to create a perfect fit. The result is a thin, durable shell that fits comfortably between your body and waistband.
The only difference in material between the two holsters is that the ProTuck also has two leather “wings” backing its belt clips. The backings are cut from a premium leather chosen for its comfort, durability, and appearance.
The ProTuck comes standard with 10-12 ounce black leather and can be upgraded to a natural tan horsehide leather if desired.
Both holsters are available in dozens of different Kydex color options, though with the ProTuck, you can choose up to two different colors, one for the front and one for the back, while the LightTuck™ only comes in a single color of your choice.
Clips
When it comes to clips, the ProTuck and LightTuck™ are similar, though there are a few key differences that are worth noting.
The LightTuck™ is designed with a single Rock Solid Spring Steel Belt Clip – a tuckable, slim, fully adjustable clip made from a durable, sleek spring steel that’s easier to conceal than your average bulky, plastic clip. It comes in two sizes – 1.5" and 1.75" – to accommodate a range of belt widths.
The ProTuck also features our patented Rock Solid Spring Steel Belt Clip, though not the same version as the LightTuck™. The ProTuck has two of the same clips as our ComfortTuck™ holster, which are identical to those found on our LightTuck™, though without the slot that allows you to adjust the cant position.
The factor that really sets the ProTuck apart is that it is highly customizable in terms of clips. While it does come standard with the Rock Solid Spring Steel clips, it is also compatible with our J-Clips and V-Clips.
The J-Clip is a polymer clip designed for deeper concealment. It works by wrapping over your waistband and behind your gun belt, where it then clips under the bottom of your belt, making it less visible.
The V-Clip offers the deepest concealment of any Vedder Holsters clip. It is designed to go over your waistband and behind your belt, where it attaches to the backside. They are our least visible clip option.
And the best part is that if you can’t decide, you can place your order with all three styles of belt clip so that you can easily switch between them or even mix and match.
Adjustability
One of the biggest perks of a Kydex holster is its adjustability. Luckily, both the ProTuck and LightTuck™ are extremely adjustable, making it easy to find that “sweet spot” for concealment.
The ProTuck is designed with fully adjustable retention, allowing you to choose whether you want your retention tight, loose, or somewhere in the middle. It also features three levels of adjustable ride height, so you can choose how deep or high you want your gun to sit on your waistline.
The LightTuck™ is one of our most adjustable options. It features three levels of adjustable ride height, adjustable retention, and 30 degrees of adjustable cant in both directions – an anomaly in the world of holsters.
Adjusting either of these holsters is easy – all you have to do is loosen the cant or ride height screw, adjust the holster to where you want it, and tighten it back down. Adjusting the retention only requires you to adjust the retention screw until it is as tight or loose as you want!

Other Features
In addition to everything we’ve already covered, both the ProTuck and LightTuck™ are highly customizable and can be tailored to your exact gun – even if you have aftermarket additions or accessories.
Both holsters are designed with custom sight channels to accommodate most standard and aftermarket sights, loaded chamber indicators, and suppressor sights. Both the LightTuck™ and the ProTuck can also be cut specifically for any red dot optics that you may have.
Our holsters also come standard with a full sweat shield to minimize the contact your gun has with your body, keeping your slide clean and dry. They are also built with corrosion-resistant hardware and are available for both right- or left-hand draw.
An additional feature on our LightTuck™ is the optional holster claw attachment, which is specifically designed to make contact with the backside of your gun belt to pull the grip of your pistol closer to your body for better concealment.
